PGT Construction in Ontario, CA | Penhallow Remodeling Riverside

PGT windows and doors are a solid choice for Ontario homes, and we repair, install, and replace them across the city. What sets our PGT work apart here is knowing exactly how these units fail under Ontario’s specific conditions: 100°F afternoons, hard water, freight-corridor dust, and older stucco homes. We’re Penhallow Remodeling Riverside, a General Contractor in Ontario and an independent PGT service provider serving the city. Call (341) 895-1170 for a straight answer and a free estimate.

Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for PGT Service

A remodeled laundry and mudroom with a bench, cubbies and painted cabinets

We’ve disassembled, rebuilt, and specified PGT windows and doors across hundreds of Inland Empire remodels. That means we know how PGT’s impact-rated aluminum and vinyl lines perform in Ontario’s dry heat and hard water, and we can tell you honestly whether a window needs a $40 roller or a full replacement. We lead with repair-first diagnostics. Trevor Nash runs our crew, and he learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending two decades on Inland Empire job sites. His approach carries through every job in Ontario: diagnose the real problem, explain it in plain English, and put the price in writing before anyone picks up a tool.

We’re an independent PGT service provider, not a manufacturer-authorized dealer. That distinction matters because it means our recommendation is based on what we see in the field, not a sales quota. For broader coverage of the brand, see our PGT sales & service page. Within Ontario, we work on everything from 1950s ranchers off Euclid Avenue to newer townhomes in the northern expansion areas.

Common PGT Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario

  • Dried-out glazing tape on older WinGuard Aluminum units. Original butyl glazing tape on PGT WinGuard aluminum frames dries out and shrinks under Ontario’s sustained 100°F summers. You’ll notice air leaks around the sash and fogging between panes. We pull the sashes, clean the channels, and re-glaze with fresh PGT-compatible tape.
  • Stiff, grinding sliding glass doors on PGT 5500 Series. Ontario’s freight corridors kick up fine dust that settles into door tracks. The rollers collect that grit and grind against the aluminum track, making the door harder to slide every week. We replace worn rollers with genuine PGT parts and clean, not just lubricate, the track.
  • Warped vinyl sashes on west-facing 2300 Series windows. Afternoon sun on unshaded stucco walls in Ontario gets intense. PGT’s 2300 Series vinyl frames can warp slightly under that heat, misaligning the sashes and defeating the interlock. We check the interlock alignment, replace weatherstrip, and in severe cases recommend a window with a higher solar heat tolerance.
  • Clogged weep holes from stucco over-spray. Ontario has thousands of stucco homes, and renovation work often leaves over-spray on window frames. Those tiny weep holes at the bottom of PGT frames clog with dirt and stucco debris, trapping water inside and corroding the lower rail from the inside out. We clear them and replace weep covers before the frame rots through.
  • Misaligned interlocks from house settling. Older Ontario homes on slab foundations settle over decades. That slight movement can knock PGT sashes out of alignment just enough that the interlock no longer seals, letting in drafts and dust. We realign sashes and, where needed, install new PGT interlock weatherstrip.

PGT Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

A built-in window seat in a bay window

Here’s something most window contractors from Rancho Cucamonga or Fontana won’t think about when they quote a PGT job in Ontario: the historic downtown core and the older neighborhoods along Euclid Avenue contain hundreds of unreinforced masonry buildings. Any PGT window or door installation in those structures requires extra anchoring plates and seismic clips before the stucco patch goes on. Ontario’s retrofit ordinance is specific about this. We pre-install those plates, so the city inspection doesn’t fail and send you back to square one. That’s the kind of local knowledge that comes from doing actual PGT work on Ontario homes, not just reading a spec sheet. For residents in these older areas specifically, this matters more than any brand-level marketing claim.

We replaced two west-facing PGT WinGuard Vinyl casements on a 1970s rancher off Euclid Avenue last August. The homeowners said hot air was blowing in around the sashes every afternoon. Our tech found the original glazing tape turned to powder and the interlock misaligned by a sixteenth of an inch. We pulled the sashes, installed new PGT interlock weatherstrip and fresh glazing tape. Those windows now close tight enough that stucco dust outside no longer reaches the sill.

PGT Models & Products We Service in Ontario

We work on PGT WinGuard Aluminum, PGT WinGuard Vinyl, PGT 2300 Series, and PGT 5500 Series windows and doors. For repairs we default to genuine PGT replacement parts: rollers, locks, weep covers, and glazing. Aftermarket copies rarely match the tolerances or finish of the original, and on an impact-rated window, that’s not a corner we’ll cut. We keep common PGT parts stocked locally for fast Ontario turnaround. Where a unit is beyond ten years old and showing corrosion at the sill or interlock, we’ll recommend a modern code-compliant PGT model rather than throwing money at a frame that will fail again in three Ontario summers.

PGT Service Pricing in Ontario

A dining nook with a built-in banquette

Pricing for PGT work in Ontario depends on the scope: a single window replacement runs a different number than a whole-home impact window package. Here’s what we quote in this market:

Service Price Range
Window Replacement $4,500 – $15,000
Impact Window Installation $8,000 – $25,000
Roof Replacement $8,000 – $20,000
Standing Seam Metal Roof $15,000 – $40,000

What drives the number up or down: the number of openings, whether the frame is aluminum or vinyl, whether we need seismic anchoring plates on an older Ontario structure, and the condition of the existing stucco surrounding each window. Your free estimate includes a written, line-item quote before any work starts, so the number you see is the number you pay. Call (341) 895-1170 for your exact quote.

FAQs – PGT Construction in Ontario

Do PGT impact windows still meet Title 24 energy requirements in Ontario’s inland climate?
Yes, current PGT impact-rated models are tested and labeled for Title 24 compliance when installed with the correct low-E glazing and proper flashing. Ontario’s inland valley gets hotter and drier than coastal zones, so we specify glazing packages with lower solar heat gain coefficients. Call (341) 895-1170 and we’ll walk you through what your specific opening needs.

Can you retrofit PGT impact windows into an older Ontario home without replacing the stucco?
In most cases, yes. We remove the old window from the inside where possible, leaving the exterior stucco intact. On unreinforced masonry homes along Euclid Avenue and the downtown core, the seismic anchoring plates we install as part of our Ontario Bathroom Remodeling and window services require a small stucco patch, which we match to your existing texture. The goal is a watertight, code-compliant install that doesn’t demand a full stucco redo.

My PGT sliding door is hard to open after a windy day – is it the rollers or the track?
Usually both. Ontario’s freight-corridor dust settles into the track, and a windy day adds more grit. Rollers grind that dust against the aluminum, flattening over time and scoring the track. We inspect both, replace worn rollers with genuine PGT parts, and clean the track thoroughly. Call (341) 895-1170 for a free diagnostic visit.

Does replacing only the glass in a PGT WinGuard window void the impact rating?
Yes, if the replacement glass is not the same impact-rated laminated glass specified for that exact PGT model, the unit no longer carries its original impact rating. We source genuine PGT glazing matched to your model so the rating stays intact. A partial repair done wrong costs more than a proper replacement.

Why do our PGT windows sweat on the inside during Ontario’s cold, wet winter mornings?
That interior condensation is almost always a sign that warm indoor air is hitting the glass and the frame’s thermal break is compromised, or the interlock is no longer sealing tightly. On older Ontario homes we often find the original glazing tape has degraded. We test the seal, replace weatherstrip and tape as needed, and the sweating usually stops. Call (341) 895-1170 and we’ll take a look.
