Silestone Fence Installation: The Riverside Owner’s Guide

Silestone fence installation in Riverside typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 depending on fence length, substrate condition, and whether we’re replacing a failed section or building from scratch. We stock Silestone-compatible post bases, panel clips, and trim extrusions for most residential fence lines, and in most Riverside neighborhoods we can have a crew out for a free estimate within a few days of your call. The symptom most owners notice first is a post that won’t hold true any longer, or a panel that has started to lift at the corner and catches the wind in a way it never used to.

What you’re usually seeing is not the Silestone material itself failing. It’s the hardware connecting it to the concrete or the post. In Riverside’s hard-water areas and along the Arlington Heights corridors, we regularly see galvanic corrosion where aluminum post brackets were used against steel fasteners without an isolation washer. That’s a $12 part that causes a $900 post re-set if it’s ignored too long. We’ll walk through all of that below.

Which Silestone Models This Applies To

Silestone’s residential fence and screen systems fall into a few distinct series, and the part numbers are not interchangeable between them. The most common product lines we see in Riverside are the Silestone Sienna and Sienna Pro screen systems, which use a 6-inch-square post with a hidden clip channel, and the older Silestone Classic line, which used a 4-inch post with exposed face screws. If you’re not sure which line you have, check the inside face of any post base: Sienna posts are stamped with a three-digit number starting with 6, while Classic units start with 4.

The compatibility gotcha that catches most owners is this: Silestone Sienna panels will not seat correctly in a Classic post, even though both are nominally “6-foot” fence panels. The panel-to-post clips are offset by roughly 3/8 of an inch, and forcing them usually cracks the panel corner or strips the clip channel. If you’re replacing a post and keeping your existing panels, or replacing a panel and keeping your posts, you need to confirm the series first. We carry OEM Silestone hardware where it is still available, and we also carry quality aftermarket equivalents that match the Sienna clip depth and post wall thickness, which we offer at roughly 30 – 40% less than the OEM part. Trevor Nash will always tell you which one makes sense for your specific fence before you spend a dollar.

Signs Your Silestone Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Post lean or drift. A post that is 1/4 inch out of plumb at the top usually means the post base has begun to corrode or the anchor bolts loosened. In Riverside’s alkaline soil, we see this accelerate when posts were set directly into concrete without a standoff base.
  • Panel rattle or flutter. If a panel clatters in the wind and you can feel play when you push it, the clip channel has worn or a clip has snapped. Left alone, the panel works itself free, and a gust off the Santa Ana winds can launch it across the yard.
  • White streaking below post bases. That powdery crust is efflorescence from moisture wicking through the concrete, and it is a signal that your post base is sitting in standing water or the concrete pour did not slope away. The base will eventually pit through.
  • Corner seams separating. When a panel’s corner weld or seam opens even a few millimeters, the panel’s structural integrity is compromised and it will flex more with every wind cycle. In the hot, dry Riverside summers, expansion and contraction cycles make this worse year over year.
  • Gate no longer latches square. If your gate swings fine for a while and then starts scraping the strike plate, the hinge-side post is moving. This is almost never the gate itself; it is the post base wearing out underneath it.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A walk-in pantry with wood shelving

For most Riverside homes, Silestone fence installation pricing lands this way:

  • Single post replacement (including new post base and labor): $450 – $900
  • Section repair (1 – 3 panels, hardware refresh): $1,200 – $2,600
  • Half-fence rebuild (approx. 25 – 40 linear feet): $2,800 – $5,000
  • Full fence installation (50 – 75 linear feet, new posts, concrete, panels): $5,500 – $9,000

What moves the number is the linear footage, the condition of the existing concrete footings, and whether we are reusing your current Silestone panels or installing new material. We write the parts cost and the labor cost as separate line items, so you see exactly what you’re paying for, and the number on day one is the number on the invoice.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: look at the post base for cracking or rust blooms, wiggle each panel to find loose clips, and check that the base is not sitting in standing water after the sprinklers run. That will tell you whether the issue is isolated or systemic. What you should not do is pull a post out of concrete with Silestone panels still attached to it. A 6-foot panel section weighs over 40 pounds, and when the post lets go, the panel falls and takes the adjacent clip channels with it, and the person standing too close to the fall line takes a bad hit. We’ve repaired more than one owner-induced panel break from a weekend post pull. Call us at (341) 895-1170 and we’ll give you a straight read before anything comes apart.
